Perry was founded in Pontiac, Michigan by Jack Robinson in 1957. It quickly became a very successful drug store, moving not only into new areas, but into new retail markets as well! By 1978, Perry opened its first store featuring an expanded sporting goods line, a home and automotive center, and live pets for sale. Just four years later, Auto Works, an automotive parts retail chain, was introduced. All these new expansions made Perry a popular place for almost all your needs! In the 1980s, at its peak, Perry had over 200 drug stores across 7 states. After nearly 40 years in business, Perry sold all of its stores to Rite Aid in 1995.
